Birches

These paintings have followed the seasonal changes in the Forest where I live.

The colours become more subtle as Autumn turns to Winter. I am fascinated by the play of the low sun on faded fronds of bracken, grasses and birch trunks. The many shades of grey are even more interesting a challenge, than the more obvious colours of the other seasons.
